LibertyNET COLD/ERM

LibertyNET COLD/ERM

Staff 9LibertyNET can convert nearly any existing computer output and convert it into manageable information. Start with nearly any existing computer output – reports, data files, screen dumps in the native format your legacy system understands – ASCII, EBCDIC, whatever your application cares to deliver. LibertyNET converts it, automatically and accurately, according to standard pre-defined or custom rules you define with the help of LibertyNET’s easy-to-use toolkit.

Once data arrives, you can massage and manipulate it in a variety of ways to make it even more manageable. You can extract data from “dumb” reports, turning them into intelligent documents capable of being displayed or printed in a variety of ways. You can throw out needless repeated information while maintaining document integrity by using LibertyNET’s powerful Forms Overlay Manager. Index it effortlessly with powerful data recognition rules that determine exactly what goes where. Full and partial text indexing are also available.

Now all the advantages of LibertyNET are available for Enterprise Report Management (ERM) There’s never been a faster, more flexible way to index and archive all forms of computer output and have it instantly available for retrieval, anytime, anywhere.

Why use COLD?

In many facilities, reports requested from the company's mainframe computer are printed to a high-speed, text line printer. The individual reports are often only a few lines in length and the next report is started on a new page. Using this example, it is evident that a lot of paper is wasted in this manner. Reports created using these line printers use large amounts of paper and require massive storage spaces.

The COLD process starts by capturing report data from a mainframe, typically by copying it from a mainframe print queue. The raw data is then formatted, processed, and burst into the desired lowest common denominator (an individual report , invoice, purchase order, etc). Finally, index information is extracted from preselected areas in the text and used to create a new index record. The new record and file is then stored LibertyNET.

COLD uses little storage space and many documents can fit onto one CD-ROM for archiving. A background image, called an Overlay, can be used as a template for the imported COLD data, allowing the original page to be replicated.

COLD storage options

COLD storage options are very flexible. You can maintain COLD data as an integral part of your LibertyNET system to create fully-integrated information management for both data and images on anything from a stand-alone optical storage system to a fully networked, multi-jukebox CD-ROM or WORM configuration.

Data can also be exported in a variety of formats for use in other systems. You can even extend the application to handle your own unique requirements creating links to external applications that allow you to automatically share information between systems.
